Is your child’s health ready to go back to school?

This year in Miami, Florida almost 350,000 children go back to school. For some, their first time attending school can be a health rollercoaster. The state of Florida has established a guideline to make sure every child has had the proper health evaluations to get back to school safely. When we send off our kids to school each day their health is a priority, if we know they are protected, their education becomes that much easier to manage. It would be great if our children could avoid sickness altogether, but that is not the case. The first line of defense against common colds, viruses, and sickness for children getting ready to go back to school in Miami is vaccinations.

When You Feel Good You Are Ready To Learn

Getting your child’s vaccines, immunizations, and health evaluations up to date prior to beginning the school year can be frustrating, but you are not alone.

Because of such busy work schedules, many if not most parents leave things like doctor’s appointments until the last minute. This creates excessive stress for both parent and child.

A child with poorly maintained health will be distracted with concern and unable to focus during school instruction, and might even miss days if not months due to sickness. The result of these conditions is bad grades, absences, and a child that falls behind. This can take a big toll on parents as well. Having to plan to miss work, doctor’s appointments, daily care, medications, etc.

There is no doubt a healthy child makes life for the entire family much easier. Studies show when our children feel healthy and cared for, they are not compromising the components of their brain that affect their learning and capture of information, thus leading to a successful school year and a child who is ready to learn.

Anyone who has been to school sick knows of the horrid feeling. Sitting in class with a runny nose, or not being able to sit comfortably in your desk chair because of body aches and pains. Unfortunately, there are some things that are completely out of a parent’s control but your child’s health is not one of them. Your child experiencing school sickness is not something that they have to do.

Sick At School

Getting your child’s immune system strong with help from vaccines is a sure way to protect them from several diseases while at school. Here is a list of a few of the most common diseases you can protect your child from with vaccination.

Healthy Back To School

Recent medical discoveries have given people the opportunity to avoid certain health complications related to a childhood sickness. For some less fortunate, complications were never avoidable. Some conditions like Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD are unavoidable. ADHD is a condition that affects children that includes a combination of difficulty sustaining attention, impulsive behavior, and hyperactivity or restlessness.

This condition may make it difficult for a child to keep up with school work.
